My oldest son is now working toward an advanced degree in sports management. He’s recently began researching sports management internships because he feels that aquiring a bit of real life working experience gives him an edge after he finishes school and begins to look for a job and I strongly agree. In addition to having a degree, getting the real-world experience in his chosen field is going to put him in a better spot than almost every other potential job candidates he might be competing with down the road.
A potential issue is that I could not afford to cover the entire cost of his schooling or his living expenses so he also works a full time job in addition to going to classes. Because of this, he has been investigating summer internships for college students so he will be able to keep working at his regular job to make money to cover his expenses but also work as an intern throughout the summer season when he doesn’t have any classes to attend.
Money will be a bit tight but I’ll assist him in any way I can. One of the ways we made it possible to save some money on his monthly bills was to do some research and locate the cheapest car insurance for young drivers. It is probably common knowledge that younger drivers in general have to pay quite a bit more money for their insurance coverage than older drivers but by investing some time online doing a bit of research we were able to locate a better rate that will save my son close to $550 each year.
His future appears bright and I am sure he will have no trouble finding a good internship. He has terrific social skills and a great work ethic. He is also a computer whiz and he’s incredibly determined with a genuine drive to achieve his goals and objectives. Needless to say as his father I am biased but I’m very confident that he has the goods to be very prosperous in any industry he decides on.
